Job Description:Ref: IIMB/HR/RECT/2017/07 Date: 02/06/2017 Position: Manager-Research and Publications Summary: The Manager-R& amp amp P is a management position reporting to the Chairperson-R& amp amp P. The Manager will oversee the R& amp amp P Office, supervise the staff and work closely with faculty as a partner in helping them raise funds for research projects. The Manager-R& amp amp P is expected to play an important role in identifying project funding opportunities and coordinating with faculty with the ultimate goal of enhancing their research output. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Assist faculty members in developing research proposals and submitting them to funding organizations, which include the government, corporates and foundations. Ensure adherence to professional standards and ethics of research proposal. Develop and maintain a database of funding opportunities related to the broad domains of faculty interest. Supervise the staff in the R& amp amp P Office. Set departmental and individual employee goals and provide routine evaluations of progress toward these goals to the Chairperson-R& amp amp P. Help the Chairperson-R& amp amp P develop and oversee budgets and policies and procedures for the R& amp amp P office. Perform other duties as assigned. Key Skills / Abilities/Knowledge required: Ability to understand research proposal indicators and draft research proposals consistent. Proficiency with electronics and printed reference materials. Excellent writing skills for drafting research proposals. Good communications skills to interface with external agencies. Advanced computer skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite of applications. Experience and Educational qualification: Education: Minimum qualifications for the position include a Masters degree. Experience: Ten years experience in an educational/research/non-profit research institution preferably in research and publications, including at least one year in a supervisory role. Administrative experience in project management, implementation, and evaluation, and in-depth understanding of organizational processes and systems is also required. Reporting Relationships: The Manager-R& amp amp P is a critical part of the Institutes R& amp amp P office and reports to the Chairperson-R& amp amp P. Audience / Interface: Internal Director, Deans, Chairperson-R& amp amp P, Faculty and IIMB Management Review. External Government and private (both domestic and international) agencies. This position is on contract. Compensation will based on Institute norms and the applicants qualification and experience. Selected candidates should be prepared to take up the assignment immediately.
