Job Description:Role Purpose : Accountable to the Regional Head of Fixed Income Trading and Regional Fixed Income Business Manager in Hong Kong for supporting oversight of all activities relating to the management of the Regional business. The Business Manager is positioned as a key role in the senior management layer of Markets. The Business Manager is responsible for helping build strategy and drive efficient execution by engaging stakeholders across the Business and Support functions. This role is responsible for ensuring effective governance structures and processes are in place to drive key cost, RWA and revenue deliveries. Serve as point of engagement with various programmes to ensure that Fixed Income' s priorities and delivery requirements are observed. As needed deputize for the Global business manager and chair Steercos as required. Principal Accountabilities : Key activities and decision making areas : Impact on the Business : - Responsible for operational aspects of the control environment including aspects of regulatory change as they move to BAU - Helping the Regional team develop and drive business strategy and related deliveries - Ensure the Operational Risk and Compliance Management framework remains current - this includes owning the RCA for FI - Support business management with running effective Business Control Committees (BCCs) - Maintaining desk documentation and accessibility of key policies and procedures - Ensure controls and procedures are in line with Global Standards and FCC policy roll out Typical Key Performance Indicators and Targets : - Demonstrably drive analysis resulting in business development and efficiency - Positive internal audit ratings across the region - Positive feedback received from support groups - Up to date risk inventory with associated implementation ownership and plans - Effective governance process through BCCs, BRSCs, etc - Customers / Stakeholders - The role will involve direct interaction with the Fixed Income desk across ASP, as well as support groups. - Additional stakeholders will be within the ASP Business Management team and the global FI Business management community. - Positive feedback from stake-holders - Proactive escalation of items Leadership & amp amp Teamwork : - Ability to infer strategic implications from disparate regulatory and other data sources. - Disseminate information in a clear and concise way to people within the team - Ability to drive action in the support functions and programmes with the support of business management. Role Context : - The global fixed income business forms part of Global Banking and Markets and has a global presence in geographies with varying regulator environments. - The successful candidate should preferably have a thorough understanding of FI products, the competitive landscape, and the strategic outlook for the industry. Management of Risk (Operational Risk / FIM requirements) : - Is aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with the role and acts in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations. Observation of Internal Controls (Compliance Policy / FIM requirements) : - Maintains company internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators. - Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.
